Mathias Cazenave

Mathias Cazenave studied animated film in Angoulême at the Digital Imaging Laboratory of the Centre national de la bande dessinée et de l’image, where he directed M.O.I.: Mon Ombre est une Image, his first animated short film, and obtained a postgraduate diploma.

In 2003, Les Grapholithes, his second short film, built in a single sequence shot, without cut or fade, allows him to develop a very personal graphic universe. During his residency at the Maison des Auteurs, he worked on the direction and production of M. M, an animated short film in five chapters, in which he explores new avenues in cutting and movement. He works as a compositing supervisor for 2D and 3D animation studios (Blue Spirit in Angoulême for “Ernest et Célestine” caesarized in 2013, and SOI in Germany).
